Who Can Apply
Scholarships primarily target students from the project’s partner regions — East Africa (Uganda), Southeast Asia (Vietnam), and South America (Ecuador) — but are open to students from VLIRUOS partner countries more broadly. The selection actively seeks candidates from underrepresented groups and students in vulnerable situations.
Full details on eligibility, required documents, and selection criteria are available on the VIVES website: vives.be/en/study/icp-connect-scholarships
What to Expect
Scholarship students receive full financial support for their 3-year studies. Before departure, VIVES provides guidance on visa applications, housing, and paperwork. On arrival, scholars join a welcome week in Bruges.
During their studies, scholars have access to VIVES’s world-class facilities — including a former Michelin 3-star restaurant cooking lab — and benefit from internship and networking opportunities in Belgium and across Europe.
In the final year, scholars complete an internship in their home country, applying their knowledge directly in their local tourism context and beginning to build the professional network they need to drive change when they return.
The Goal: Change Agents
ICP Connect scholarships are not just about individual opportunity. We look for candidates who are committed to returning to their home regions and contributing to sustainable tourism development there — whether by starting their own businesses, leading community tourism initiatives, or raising standards in the local hospitality industry.
How to Apply
Applications are submitted through the VIVES admissions system. Your regional hub can help inform you about the programme and support you in preparing your application, but the application itself is made directly through VIVES.
